"Rock Academy is a different world. He now has the freedom to explore the music he loves with others — and the progress has been incredible."
— Nathaly, mother of Alejandro"She's performed on stage in front of large crowds multiple times and always comes away feeling very proud of herself. It's a wonderful music school for building confidence and a love of performing."
— Manuel, father of Julia"She can't wait for band rehearsals — and she can't wait to get on stage. Nothing like a traditional music school, and that's exactly why it works."
— Britt, mother of Magnolia"We're all adults with full schedules, but our weekly session at Rock Academy is the one thing none of us would miss."
— Alex, Bandclass Adults'Five Rocks' — from first practice to a real stage in two months.
Some people never forget the first time they stood on a stage. Our founder Niko mostly wondered why it took so long. So after seven years at Google in Europe and California, he founded his passion project: Rock Academy, the music school he always wished had existed. A place where you learn more than an instrument. You join a band and get your first taste of the stage much sooner.
Today kids, teens and adults rehearse side by side at Rock Academy, pick their own songs and perform together. Their mentors: musicians who live on stage themselves. Because confidence built on a real stage is confidence nobody can take away. Whether you're 7 or 77, your band is waiting for you.
Our founder discusses our method at FluxFM Berlin
Yes. To ensure inclusivity, all our programs are bilingual. Our mentor partners are predominantly fluent in English but possess at least an intermediate plus proficiency in German.
Absolutely. All of our mentor partners are trained professionals with extensive teaching and live experience. We ensure that they are great with kids and serve as positive role models. Additionally, we prioritize providing a safe and supportive environment for our students.
Our class subscription renews every four weeks and includes four 45-minute sessions comprising of instrument lessons, band jams, and live shows. It can be canceled anytime before the renewal date. Once a subscription is canceled the student can participate in the remaining class sessions of the subscription period and the subscription will end the day before the next renewal date.
For instance, if a subscription begins on April 22nd, it will renew in four weeks, on May 20th. The subsequent renewal date after that will be June 17th. If the student cancels, for example, on May 22nd there will be three class sessions remaining in their last subscription period and the subscription will end on June 16th.
Unless otherwise stated, promotion codes for subscriptions are only applicable for the first month. Terms and conditions apply.
To accommodate parents' need for flexibility during holidays, every subscription can be optionally "paused" for four weeks within a twelve months subscription period. You will receive two "pause weeks" every six months, bundled in a two week block. The paused weeks will be added to the end of the next active subscription period, extending your subscription by two weeks for free and eliminating the need for cancelation and re-enrollment. Unused pause weeks cannot be carried over. Subscribers must notify Rock Academy at least two weeks in advance via the community app.
If not announced differently, Rock Academy offers classes throughout the public school holidays (except the summer and Christmas holidays) and public holidays. If there are not enough students available to accommodate band jams, we aim to provide instrument lessons instead. This will be decided based on the actual availability of students during the respective holidays.
In the unlikely event that Rock Academy needs to cancel a class session we will work with the program students and their parents to find a new date that fits their schedule. Terms and conditions apply.
In general, it's essential for the students growth as a musician, as well as for the collective progress of the band, that everyone engages consistently in our lessons.
Unlike traditional music schools, we offer makeup sessions for lessons canceled with at least 24 hours notice. Makeup sessions are at the discretion of your mentor, subject to availability, must be arranged directly within one week of the cancellation and can only take place while your subscription is active. Please note that makeup sessions are not available for the Mini Rockers / Musikalische Früherziehung program.
Furthermore, our students have access to online materials and videos on our community platform, allowing them to stay up to date with their studies and catch up on missed lessons from anywhere and any device.

No, our mentors are professional musicians working as independent partners. This ensures you learn from real rockstars who bring their current stage experience directly to the classroom.
